Description

The "Inlay Hermopolis Set of 4" is a captivating blend of history and artistry. Encased in antique gold wooden frames with clear glass, each piece measures L. 53 cm by W. 43 cm and D. 4.5 cm. Crafted from hand-casted and painted plaster, these artworks are inspired by ancient Egypt, possibly hailing from Middle Egypt, Hermopolis (Ashmunein; Khemenu). Their uniqueness lies in the variations and colors that naturally occur, making each one a distinctive homage to the rich heritage of the Horus Falcon.

HISTORIC PROVENANCE

The Wall Art Inlay Hermopolis is inspired by four Egyptian inlays from the 4th-century B.C. and is now at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Each inlay features a different image: Shepsi, a solar god associated with Hermopolis; the hieroglyphic sign "heh," meaning "millions of years"; and two likenesses of Horus, the falcon god of kingship. Our set of four hand-painted wall artworks are crafted from hand-cast plaster and presented in antique-style gold wooden frames.
